{15feb2010: weekend review part 1}

I'll have to break this weekend up into parts because that much went on.
Friday night our friends invited us (and Darwin) over to their place to watch the opening ceremony of the Olympics.  Before we headed over I gave Darwin her Baby Rocket and Hootie.

After a quick play session with her new wild boar we headed out.
Darwin was really excited to visit her bff Friday.  We got there and Darwin had to play with every single one of Friday's toys.  Eventually they got into a game of tug.

If you noticed in the video, there was a Christmas colored felt ball on the ground.  After Friday was done tugging, Darwin still wanted to play more so she picked up the felt ball and headed over to Jason to play.  He picked up the ball and was tugging with her and was getting up in her face to egg her on... at the same time BB grabbed her tail that was swishing in his face and she turned quickly to see what was going on... in an instant BANG.  Darwin's quick head snap turned into a head butt onto Jason's eyebrow bone and split open the skin just under his eyebrow.  There was a bit of chaos with the running to the bathroom while trying to not get blood on their white carpet and trying to figure out just what happened.  After a rinsing it off and applying some pressure to it, we decided Jason probably wouldn't need stitches, but a healthy dose of Neosporin and a band-aid should suffice.
Here's what it looked like Sunday night:
Darwin thought cuddling with dad would make things better.
Quite an exciting start to the weekend!

{22jan2010: dog day Friday}

It's dog day Friday in the office and I decided to give Darwin another shot at coming in when other people are here.
She spent the morning shredding paper... almost got to a few things that didn't need shredding!  Oopsie.  That would not have been good.
{Is there something on my face?}

Here's her work for the day with a giant flat of her baby picture from her puppy shower watching over:

After a while I decided I had enough with the mess to clean up so I sacrificed my monkey to entertain her.

I remember when the monkey was bigger than her!

She was just about 2 weeks old then!  awwwwww.
We went out for a walk at lunch time to Mud Bay so I could pick up a bone which I figured would be better entertainment than paper.  With so many new scents to smell and pee-mail trail everywhere, Darwin had to stop everywhere to sniff.

After the store we walked down to the pier where we practiced some sit-stays.

{There's a bird up there!}

We got back to the office and I kept her busy with the best $4 I've spent in a while.  A knuckle bone!

Except for all those crumbs all over the place!

{27-29nov2009: Thanksgiving weekend part 3}

Day two of our adventure we went snowshoeing!  There were a ton of different trails to explore, but the boys wanted to check out possible snowboarding locations, so we went with the advice of the guys working at the camp and set off to snowshoe up a side of the mountain.  Exhausting but beautiful!

Darwin and Friday were both so excited to climb up with us, and it was hilarious watching them sink into the snow (or "postholeing" as BB taught us).

After a couple hours of snowshoeing we were back at the cabin, warming up by the fire and keeping watch over Friday who over did it in the snow.

Poor Friday, she was so worn out and sore from exerting herself she barely moved all night.

Sunday morning we had some time before we needed to leave so we decided we'd do a little more snowshoeing, but on an easier trail.
Darwin was ready to go, but Friday was still a little sore from the activities the day before.

When we started snowshoeing though, Friday was ready to lead the way!

After a while we were concerned about Friday overdoing it again so we headed back down to camp.

{04dec2009: dog day Friday's}

Our office has reinstated dog day Friday's!  We've had all of Darwin's bffs come through the office and we've been holding off on bringing Darwin in for fear of her crazy hyper puppiness.  She had a full day of daycare yesterday (which is going better... ease to drop off but still has anxiety when 5:00 rolls around) which makes her nice and tired, so we thought we'd give her a half day trial run today.
I went to get her at lunch and as an extra precaution to keep her calm, I gave her a couple happy traveler pills that we had from last weekend.  I also brought with us her raw bone that was in the freezer to keep her occupied and she's been good so far!
