{31oct2011: Happy Halloween}

Since Halloween is on a Monday this year, I dressed Darwin up yesterday to go to the park. I really was hoping to find her a tutu at Goodwill, so when that didn't pan out I found a large dog princess costume and some wings instead (note to self, make Darwin's costume as large costumes aren't really large enough for her).
We headed to the park and as soon as we walked in she found a friend.
It actually came with a cone hat, but that fell off and into the mud as soon as she got out of the car.
{oh man i hope none of my friends see me like this}
{ok hurry up and take the picture!}
{why am i the only one dressed up?!}
After posing for some pictures we took it all off so she could play. She had fun running with this mastiff puppy.
And then we ran into her friend Rooney and her new sister Hines!
Hines is 4.5months old and full European Dane which means she'll be a lot bigger than her older sister.
Darwin Rooney and Hines had a blast chasing each other.
It won't be long til Hines is towering over her sister and Darwin.

Hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween!

  1. Happy Halloween! Im having a hard time with boy costumes with Fred, the pet stores only carry up to xxxl which is a XL basically that fits haylie. I wish he was a girl so I could stick a tutu or wings on him lol. Haylie hates to be dressed up so its a no go for her but Fred - he could care less lol.
    OMG the dane puppy is cute!

  3. What happy pics of playing pups. I got fairy wings too but my pups didn't put up with them for a minute! Awesome that you got a few pictures before the fun began.

  4. Oh Darwin, you looked really cute with your princess costume and wings. But I know how you felt. When I first got my raincoat and boots, my dad took me outside and the neighbors were all a "gaga", particularly after my dad flipped the rainhood over my head. Oh the shame. Maybe we should get your mom to wear the wings and stuff :)

  10. Darwin you are a very pretty princess. I think the other doggies were jealous they didn't have a beautiful costume.

    You are very lucky to have such a large off leash area with trails and an open field. I can just imagine I'm there running with you.

  12. Aww...Darwin - you look gorgeous in your costume! That pink colour goes with your coat so beautifully! :-)

    How strange - we were always told - that AMERICAN Danes are the tallest - although the European-type Danes do seem to have more "substance" and be chunkier...as you can probably guess, I'm an European-type Dane! :-) My daddy came to NZ from the UK as a puppy and my mummy is a 2nd generation UK Dane as well! My humans notice that I seem to be quite different from some of the Danes we meet here in Australia - they seem to be much daintier and have finer heads, whereas I have big baggy jowls and lots of wrinkles - hee! hee!

  15. Oh Darwin,
    what a nice outfit you had!
    Guess Brooke will need to learn who to make new ones for you if you want to wear a tutu...
    Don't think they sell our size... ;-)
    It is always so nice to see you having fun with your furry friends!
    Ciao Lucille

  16. Oh, Darwin, Darwin! You look enough like a beautiful princess without having to wear that outfit! (You do look cute in it, though. Really. And pink is TOTALLY your color.)
