{07jan2011: more ketchup}

Before playing catch up... in one month Darwin is turning TWO!!!  We're planning another birthday reunion like last year and it should be fun!  If you're in the Seattle area and want to join us we'll be at Marymoor on the 13th of February (had to pass on the 6th since it's Super Bowl Sunday).

Back to catch up.  You all saw Darwin's Christmas bow picture, well there's more fun pictures from that day at the dog park.  Darwin was extra wound up that day and was running around like a crazy dog.
{woo hooooooo the park!!!}

{hurry up mom and take the picture so i can go playyyyyyyy}
It was raining like crazy in December and parts of the park were flooded.  This little sunken area is usually dry and Darwin ignores it.  This time it was full of water and Darwin had a blast running through it.

{zooomies!!!!!!!}
Being a Sunday, we ran into some Dane friends.

{hello there big boy}

{he's after meeeee!!!!   aaggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!}

For the first time ever, she chased after Greta.  We see Greta almost every week at the park, and this was the first time they ever played together.

Then Tessa showed up with her Christmas bells on and more games of chased commenced.

Soon the "littlest Dane" Winston was there and it was time for bitey face!
All in all a great day at the park.  Darwin was POOPED after so much hard running!

{24dec2010: Bffs at the Park}

After Saturday's walk the girls were pretty mellow the rest of the day.  Sunday being Darwin's most favorite day of the week, the girls were eager to get out of the house and go to the park for the weekly Great Dane "convention".

We ran into this big guy who was quick to check out both Darwin and Friday.

Then another blue girl showed up and a booty sniffing train formed.
We found the rest of the group and Friday introduced herself to the other Danes.
Darwin's Irish Wolfhound friend, Tessa, showed up and the two of them had a blast chasing eachother in the fields.
Winston showed up and wanted in on the Darwin play time action.
Meanwhile Friday was off to the side waiting patiently.

Darwin even got herded by a little Shepherd dog.
After we left the park we stopped at Target  real quick.  Darwin was in the back of the car, Friday was in the back seat. We ran in real quick, and I came back out while Jason paid and where did I find Friday?  In the front seat just hanging out.
When we got home both girls passed out and soon it was time for Friday to get picked up. It was cute and sad, once Friday left Darwin seemed so depressed that her bff was gone.  She was restless and kept going to the door.  We even heard that once Friday got home she wasn't acting like herself and seemed sad to not have Darwin around.  Poor girls.

{05oct2010: day with the big dogs}

Day one of the sleepover went over well.  After all the excitement of the day, Darwin curled up on the couch and Friday curled up on Darwin's bed (at least someone knows what a doggy bed is for) and we all hit the hay.
On Sunday, Jason woke up early to go in to work for a bit and so I hung out with the dogs catching up on Project Runway (man what an emotional episode that last one was) before we all headed out to the park.  As I was trying to watch, the girls got restless so I called Jason and told him to hurry back because the pooches were ready for park time.  Somehow it always seems that Darwin knows when it's Sunday (Marymoor Dane day) and is super hyped up to go.
{Fridaaaayyyy, play with meeeeee}

{Okay Fri, how about this one?!}
{what's wrong with this chick?  can't she take a hint?!}
{okay fine... one game of tug}
While they were having fun, they were also getting a bit loud, so I stopped the game and made them rest till Jason got back and we could head out to the park where they could be as loud as they want.
In the fall, Marymoor park gets these wood chip hills delivered to be scattered for the pathways.  Darwin loves these wood chips hills (as do a lot of the dogs) and is always quick to run up to the top.
{I'm the queen of the hill!  Friday you're missing out!}
Friday used the bathroom, and as some dogs do, kicked up the ground around it to cover it (is that why dogs do that?) and in the process kicked up bark all over me.
{sorry aunty brooke}
The girls had a blast at the park the rest of the time, making new friends and playing with old friends.
WINSTON!!! Winston is the husky who thinks he's a Dane.  He always manages to find the group (at least a minute or two before his parents do) and loves to play with the big dogs.
{Friday and Parker}
{bffs}
After the park time, we gave Friday a bath so she would go home nice and clean and then headed home for nap time til it was time for Friday to go home.
Darwin was sad after Friday left, but was happy to have all our attention for herself again.
